| A special session “Social Investment Forum” is scheduled in one afternoon (14 November) of the International Symposium of Social Enterprise Summit 2009. We have invited a number of funders/investors keen to invest in social enterprises to share their criteria for selecting business plans. At the same Forum, we will also invite owners/chief managers of social enterprise projects to present their business proposals in front of the potential funders/investors and the entire Summit audience.
The potential funders/investors will put questions to the presenters and through their exchanges, everyone present will gain insight into what it takes to attract investments into a social enterprise. There is a possibility for outstanding business proposals to receive funding from the funders/investors and/or anyone in the Summit audience.
Owing to time constraint, we will only invite 3 proposals to be presented at the Social Investment Forum. Panel members of the session will choose the best proposal to receive the Most Promising Project Award of HK$50,000.
We are now calling for social enterprise projects and social entrepreneurs to express interest to present at the Social Investment Forum.
Who should participate?
- Start-up projects or social enterprise already in operation up to 3 years, and
- Investment amount sought in the range of HK$500,000 to HK$2,000,000, and
- The applicant must be the owner/chief manager of the project with or without any affiliations to an NGO. Projects which have received previous funding from any other sources can also apply.
